The Van Horn Youth Center has 44 beds for minors. It is a bootcamp run by the Riverside Probation Department for boys between the ages of 13 to 18 years of age. Visiting is on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visiting is limited to parents or legal guardians. Van Horn Youth Center is divided into two platoons, Good Platoon and Green Platoon with a bed capacity of 22 for each wing. Minors are called cadets, and the program is modeled after a military style camp.
